First thing to do after you setup your wallet

Having your wallet setup, means you have created and stored your Private & Public keys. It is wise not to use it until you make sure your backup method works properly. The way to do it is by completely wiping your wallet, and set it up again from scratch, this time using your backup.

Seed Phrase: In case you used a Seed Phrase, you wallet generated a number of different blockchain addresses private & public keys. Take a note of the first 2-3 addresses and wipe your device. Now try to setup your device again from scratch, using your backup. If the combination of addresses generated are exactly the same, then you're set to go!

Single Private Key: In case you generated one private key, take a note of the address generated, and wipe your device. Now try to setup your device again from scratch, using your backup. If the addresses generated is exactly the same, then you're set to go!

Following the above strategy, you will be assured that your backup is correct, and it works properly. In any case, if you lose your hardware wallet device or hot wallet, you will be able to successfully recover and manage your blockchain addresses.
